British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Deadly Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople confirmed on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on December 29th, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
Joshua had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.
“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.
A Tribute to the Fallen
Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the passing of his two trusted companions.”
The news of his discharge arrives after the global fight fans had expressed its support for the champion in the wake of the terrible crash.
