Homages Pour In for Rob and Michele Reiner as Autopsy Reports Are Sealed.

Well beyond 14 days after the tragic deaths of renowned film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones are still paying respects to the pair.

A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Posting on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he just recently felt prepared to express about his profound loss.

"Enough time has passed that I can at last articulate my loss into words," wrote Elwes, noting that his first meeting with Reiner made him fall in love. "As we began sharing more moments together I realized this was someone I desired in my life."

The actor shared never-before-seen clips from the movie, remarking that he could not remember "one day without joy".

"The movie is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Values that Rob cherished deeply. Which is among the many reasons he was the best person to direct it," Elwes expressed.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, noting: "To say that they were a incredible duo would be an understatement. My heart still hurts every time I recall you." He finished with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Friend and Collaborator

In a different piece, revered director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved being with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was very funny and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the protagonist.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked wonderfully with the cast, and he grasped the human predicament of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Sealed

This week, a Los Angeles judge decided to block the release of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, at the request from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A legal directive issued a restriction on the cases to limit the public release of "related notes, notes, reports or photos" connected to the active case.

The Medical Examiner's office had already determined their deaths were the consequence of homicide, with a public database citing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Response and Criticism

In the wake of the tragedy, public personalities expressed varying reactions.

Former President Donald Trump posted on the matter, providing controversial statements that were met with immediate backlash by numerous commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his voice to the detractors last week. Talking on his program, Rogan characterized the remarks as "disturbing" and remarked they revealed a troubling lack of empathy.

Rogan concluded by suggesting that an aide should have acted when the decision to comment on the tragedy was made.
